Boston power-pop trio Buffalo Tom have announced their new album Jump Rope, the band’s tenth studio effort, is due out May 31 on the band’s own imprint Scrawny Records. The Jump Rope annoucement comes on the heels of the band releasing lead single “Helmet” last month and a sold out show at New York’s Bowery Ballroom on Jan. 13. The trio also has three Boston-area gigs slated for March, which are also sold out. Second single “New Girl Singing” is due out in early March.
Jump Rope is the band’s first album in six years and second release on Scrawny Records. If “Helmet” is a harbinger of things to come the Jump Rope might very well be a jangle-pop masterpiece.
