Nashville-based singer/songwriter Mat Kearney has dropped a new single “Good Thing Going On” today. Written as a love song to his wife of nearly 15 years Kearney says of the song: “We’re keeping the Valentines vibes going with a classic love song. Hope you like it as much as my wife does.”

“Good Thing Going On” follows on the heels of “Headlights Home“, “Smile“, and “Times Like This.” All four songs are non-album tracks but one has to think a new album is on the horizon. Kearney’s last album January Flower was released in 2021 but stayed relatively under-the-radar. A solo acoustic tour followed and since then Kearney has delivered the above one-offs via digital streaming services.

Kearney is one of those artist who rarely offers up a bland song and “Good Thing Going On” continues that trend. He’s also incredibly prolific. But hey, the more Kearney music, the better. So here’s to hoping another album drops sooner rather than later.
