Brooklyn duo Salt Cathedral have been a favorite of mine for over a decade and their latest single “Terminal Woes” continues that momentum. The duo, which started as a quartet back in 2011, has been impressively prolific and is one of those few bands that has released little if any, skippable material.

What’s even more remarkable is the germination story of Salt Cathedral itself. Vocalist Juliana Ronderos and multi-instrumentalist Nicolas Losada grew up in the same neighborhood in Bogota, Colombia but did not know each other until attending Berklee School of Music. The band self-released new music until signing with Ultra Records in 2018. The band has collaborated with the likes of dancehall superstar Assassin, bounce pioneer Big Freedia and singer/rapper Matisyahu.

In launching a video for “Terminal Wars” the band also went on Substack to announce they will release their second studio album this year. A pre-order is available on vinyl. In addition to that announcement, the duo is also eager for a manager and shows to play. If anyone reading this can help with these requests reach out to the band.
