Long Island-born and now Nashville-based blues singer-songwriter Shannon McNally has announced the launch of an IndieGoGo for her upcoming tour. In her two decade-plus career McNally has appeared on both big and small labels but these days she is very much a DIY independent artist. McNally says she’s armed with new songs and is eager to record a new album but wants to hit the road before that happens.

In regards to the launch of the campaign, McNally had the following to say: “As much as I love the studio, I go bonkers when I don’t play live and feel those wheels moving underneath me. Basically, I am running this project through Indiegogo because it organizes and focuses your support to firm up my chest to cover expenses. I need to get back out there to where my fans are. It’s pretty simple. I miss my fans and I’d like to make new ones. I’ve done these fan funding (aka crowd funding) events in the past with success. Basically, I’m cleaning out my merch store, hoping to pepper the road with both house & virtual concerts. Essentially, I’m looking to raise operating cash. This money goes to things like gas, hotels, food on the road, musician salaries, tires, flights…etc.”

The IndieGoGo’s list of perks includess fine art prints created by revered photographer Michael Weintrob. Of the prints McNally says the following: “These are all limited edition prints. Michael Weintrob has a beautiful array of many of my all time favorite artists in his coffee table books. I’m touched to be in such company. All limited edition art prints are produced, signed, and numbered by hand in my East Nashville studio. Each art print is meticulously created with vibrant one hundred year archival inks on acid-free fine art museum cotton rag paper.”
