Louisville, KY Southern-rockers My Morning Jacket, arguably one of, if not, the greatest live band of the last 30 years (come on, fight me!) has announced a San Francisco residency at the end of May. The four-night stand at the Fillmore begins May 27 and ends May 31. If that’s not the best way to start the summer season, what the heck is? The band has promised over the four nights there will not be one single repeat song. Now that’s the kind of residency I can get behind. Members of the band’s One Big Family fan club can access pre-sale for the residency here.

The band last released material in November with the Christmas album Happy Holiday (ATO Records), their 10th studio album and first to not chart on any global chart. Sure Happy Holiday might not be their best effort to date but it far outweighs many of its competitor. The band‘s last proper non-holiday studio album was their 2021 self-titled which was a favorite of mine that year. For those reading this blog on the West Coast, considers yourselves lucky. Gosh it’d be unreal to be a fly on the wall for those shows
