Americana singer-songwriter Lyle Lovett and 90s folk-pop chanteuse Lisa Loeb have paired up for a tour. Lovett and Loeb first collaborated in 1996 and apparently the two have remained close. In 2021, they partnered for a pair of livestream conversations and while they have not yet released a collaborative album perhaps that’s in the works.
Truth be told aside from their alliterative names and Texas roots, this seems like such an odd pairing. But having seen Loeb previously she is quite the storyteller and can border on zany. Lovett has always struck me as wry but he certainly has a keen sense of humor and has written some truly amazing songs.
The tour is billed as conversation and songs with both Lovett and Loeb. The New England-based tour begins May 1 in Connecticut and concludes May 15 in New Jersey. Full dates can be seen below.
