Charlotte, NC faith-based singer-songwriter John Mark McMillan has announced a Patreon platform in advance of his upcoming studio album. Last night, McMillan emailed his fans to announce the launch of the Patreon. He also referenced being in the studio working on said new album and having released videos of his studio work for Patreon followers who subscribe to his platform.
McMillan’s upcoming album will be his 12th studio album. He has also released two EPs and three live albums since arriving on the Christian music scene in 2002. McMillan is most well known for his worship ballad “How He Loves,” which achieved much success when covered by the David Crowder Band.
Patreon has become the go-to crowdfunding site for artists and musicians in the last 5-6 years, but has been around since 2013. To date, some of the artists who have benefited greatly from Patreon include but is not limited to: Amanda Palmer (formerly of the Dresden Dolls), Home Free, Postmodern Jukebox, Circa Survive, Pentatonix, Vienna Teng, Walk Off The Earth, and Kina Grannis.
