I’ll admit it, I’m still “new” to SiriusXM. I made the jump in 2016 when I bought a Ford Fusion and satellite radio came with the purchase. When I bought my current Subaru three years later I made damn certain I kept SiriusXM. They can keep raising their monthly fees but my subscription is as vital as ever. And that is not hyperbole.

Now granted it has completely altered the amount of time I listen to CD’s and vinyl but it has also introduced me to more music than I can quantify. And obviously there’s way more than just music. I dabble in the comedy and sports talk when we’re not pursuing music, but let’s face it, I’m always pursuing music. I’ll quit the PSA for SiriusXM but not without recommending John Mayer’s new channel Life With John Mayer.

The channel debuted this past fall and holy heavens it might be the best thing ever. The playlist is a vast, multi-genre cornucopia of everything Mayer has enjoyed over the last 45+ years. And sure if you like Mayer’s music, you’ll hear a good amount of that too. I just took a glance at the recent playlist and it includes the likes of: Nick Drake, Lana Del Rey, John Prine, The National, Ron Sexsmith, Michael Kiwanuka, Julie London and Cal Tjader. Yep, if that sounds as freaking fantastic to you as it does to me, then you’ll probably find a lot to love here.
