Why is it that the songs about the darkest of events always make the biggest impact?
Such is the case with “First Purple Light”, the new single from Philadelphia’s Jefferson Berry + The UAC. Originally released last year on the band’s 2023 Prairie Fire album (their third album in four years) the song has received new birth with the debut earlier this month of its AI-powered video. A weighty and important ballad about domestic violence “First Purple Light” is partnering with the Domestic Violence Hotline in releasing the video.
Self-described as folk music’s first ever AI music video the effort is a collaboration between Berry and Provoke Film‘s Ciro Ayala. The video itself was shot at Lafayette Hills Studios just outside Philadelphia.
“First Purple Light” and its accompanying video are timely, timeless and truly terrific. Jefferson Berry + The UAC have marked themselves firmly as a band to watch in 2024 and beyond.
