I’d be remiss to have this day pass by without taking time to honor the passing of punk legend and record producer wunderkind Steve Albini, who passed away on Tuesday of a heart attack at age 61.

Incredibly prolific and wholly committed to unsigned artists in his later years, bands he produced and/or worked with include but are not limited to: Nirvana, The Pixies, The Breeders, Godspleed You Black Emperor, Mogwai, PJ Harvey, Cloud Nothings, Bush, Chevelle, Jimmy Page and Robert Plant, Manic Street Preachers, Jarvis Cocker, The Cribs, The Fleshtones, The Frames, Cheap Trick and Veruca Salt.

He was a true original and his production work was peerless. He’ll be dearly missed by thousands, if not more.
