After 30+ years of touring and making music Newnan, GA’s favorite son Alan Jackson will call it a career. His Last Call tour will be his last of his career. Jackson has not ruled out releasing more albums but has said he will no longer go on the road after this tour. Here’s hoping he makes more albums. His 2021 release Where Have You Gone? was quite fantastic.

The 10-date tour will hit only select cities and fans are encouraged to travel to those cities closest to them. The farewell tour kicks off Aug. 2 in Boston and concludes May 17, 2025 in Milwaukee. Here’s hoping Jackson adds more dates for those who cannot travel to one of the 10 cities.

Jackson’s announcement comes as he continues to live with Charcot-Marie-Tooth Disease (CMT), a chronic nerve disease that affects peripheral nerves outside the brain and spinal cord while also affecting muscle control in feet and hands. Jackson first revealed he had the disease in the fall of 2021. CMT has no cure.

Jackson’s influence on country music and beyond cannot be understated. His Good Time bar in Nashville was the first musician-themed bar/grill to open in Nashville and to this day remains the only one solely owned by the namesake artist. Much like his contemporary George Strait, Jackson never veered from the traditional country sound and while that may have kept him off the charts for the last decade or so, his music remains timeless, vital and worth repeated listens.
