Yesterday I posted about faith-based singer-songwriter Leslie Jordan, one half of the now-defunct faith-based duo All Sons + Daughters. Today I’m posting about the other half: faith-based singer-songwriter David Leonard. Yesterday he released his new EP Good Man. And holy wow, it’s fantastic. Self-assured, polished and deeply affecting it just might be his best work to date.
Before his time in All Sons + Daughters, Leonard was a member of the band Jackson Waters (2003 – 2009) and was a touring member of Needtobreathe after Jackson Waters disbanded. He left Needtobreathe to form All Sons + Daughters. Since launching his solo career he has released two studio albums, 2019’s The Wait, a follow up album called The Wait: Silence The Noise (live) and last year’s Plans. The latter came out on the label Provident Group. He also released the 2020 EP Open House Sessions.
