There’s an array of things one could say about Nashville, TN indie pop outfit COIN and all of them are likely positive. There’s also this. In 25+ years of seeing live music, few bands have ever made my jaw drop quite the way COIN did here in Orlando. It was nine years ago while opening for Neon Trees and it was truly quite stunning. Polished, poised and full of swagger their kinetic set at The Beacham was a tour-de-force. Neon Trees is a first-rate live band themselves and COIN went toe-to-toe with them. They’ve yet to let me down since.

Their latest single “Strawberry Jam” continues that trend and just might be the one song you need to hear heading into the weekend.

As for the song itself, the band released this statement about its formation: “Making this music was a new step for us, well, an old one that we found again. We hope you love it even 1/10th as much as we loved make it. COIN really might be a band.”
