One of the best bands on the planet, Los Angeles’ Dawes, has announced their ninth studio album, Oh Brother, is due out Oct. 11. The band is now stripped down to just a duo – Taylor Goldsmith (guitar/vocals) and Griffin Goldsmith (drums/vocals) with a touring band and studio band to support.

The band’s debut single “House Parties” was a jaunty slice of lithe indie-pop that was utterly delightful and sweetly affecting. Their latest single “Still Stranger Sometimes” is per frontman Taylor Goldsmith: “A song abut the spiritual investigation of long term relationships. How a part of ourselves will be unknowable forever, despite our deep connections and intimate understandings of each other.” As with most things Dawes does it’s utterly sublime. The band continues to do little, if anything, wrong.

Most importantly the band is slated to hit the road this fall with the uber-talented indie-pop outfit Winnetka Bowling League. The band’s tourdates can be seen below:
