New Mexico-based singer-songwriter David Berkeley has launched his new podcast, Madmen Cross the Water, a comedy-fiction podcast with Berkeley’s Sons of Town Hall collaborator Ben Parker. The episode also features the two latest singles from Sons of Town Hall and their forthcoming album (due out in 2025). Of the two singles featured in the podcast, the one worth remembering is “Wild Winds“. It just might be the best indie-folk song released this year.

Berkeley also has released his latest album, A Pail Full of Fire, his eighth studio album and arguably his best. For those unfamiliar with Berkeley, he’s arguably one of the best singer-songwriters on the planet and this writer’s personal Bob Dylan.

Blessed with a luxuriant voice and some of the best lyrics of the last two decades Berkeley is a sure thing. He’s yet to release a bad song or a bad album and if that’s not enough, he’s also a published author (and former journalist) and his written work is resplendent, incisive and thought-provoking.

Take a listen to Berkeley’s discography, Sons of Town Hall, the new podcast or read his written work Either way, you’ll enjoy and won’t be disappointed. You can thank me later.
