Country music chart-topper Chris Young has announced a major career shift. After 18 years and nine studio albums with Sony Music Nashville‘s RCA Records, the “Young Love + Saturday Nights” singer has signed with Black River Entertainment (BRE). The label is most famously known for being the record label home of Kelsea Ballerini. Their roster also includes Pryor Baird, Scotty Hasting and MaRynn Taylor. Black River Entertainment is also the former home of Craig Morgan, Kellie Pickler and Bobby Bones, among others.

The label gets Young at a great time. Three of his last four singles have reached the Top 5, including two #1 songs. To date, 18 of his songs have been Billboard County Top 10 and 11 have gone to #1. Young has pretty steadily churned out hit upon hit and that trend is not likely to change now that he’s with BRE.

Here’s hoping Young and Ballerini decide to tour together. Heck, add Baird, Hasting and Taylor to that tour and that’s a dream concert right there. Fingers crossed it happens.
