There’s been a couple posts about the alt-rock outfit Brand New on this blog since December and for good reason. After a seven year break, the band re-emerged this past week for three reunion shows in Dallas, TX; Newport, KY and Nashville, TN. The three dates received a little press, but not much. That will change by year’s end.

Earlier this morning the band announced a summer arena tour across the United States. To date it’s the band’s largest tour (venue wise) and should be warmly received by many who were not able to make it to the three reunion shows listed above.

Whether a new album is on its way remains to be seen. The band is notoriously quiet and reclusive and does things their own way, usually without press, marketing or fanfare. They have eschewed interviews for much of their career and that likely will continue, but with bigger venues in sight it will be interesting to see if they can turn that tide.

The band’s dates can be seen below. The band kicks off the tour May 30 in Seattle and concludes on their native Long Island on July 2 at UBS Arena in Elmont. Presale starts Wed. April 2 at 12:00 PM local and trust me on this, it will be a hot ticket.
