The band is also celebrating the reissue of their criminally underrated debut album The Fun of Watching Fireworks. Released via Numero Group, the reissue features a remastering of the original analog tapes and is available in a variety of formas, including special edition vinyl.

Formed in Fort Worth in 1995, TAAS cut their teeth in the nineties and early aughts in the musical paradise that is Austin, TX. The band went on hiatus in 2005 while supporting their Set Free album. While the band took hiatus frontman and founder Andrew Kenny formed the band The Wooden Birds, released works as a solo artist and was a touring member of both Broken Social Scene and Ola Podrida. Kenny also wrote and performed the original score for Alex R. Johnson’s critically acclaimed film Two Step.

In 2023, TAAG re-emerged from their hibernation with the surprise release of their seventh studio album, For Forever, the band’s first album 18 years. Arguably the band’s strongest album to date, For Forever, showed that a near two decade hiatus allowed the band to grow in leaps and bounds, and churn out some of their finest work to date.

Need more reasons to listen to TAAG? How about this? Death Cab for Cutie frontman adn founder Ben Gibbard has said, “Death Cab would not be where we are today without the influence of this great Austin band.” And Mark Hoppus of blink-182 said, “Know By Heart is one of the best albums from the greatest band that never got the light it deserved.”
