Yesterday, Taylor Goldsmith, front man and founder of Los Angeles’ indie outfit Dawes teased on Substack, a new supergroup he’s a part of. He said it was too early to reveal the name and the group’s tour dates, but he did list the band members: Ross James, Taylor Goldsmith, Adam MacDougall, Eric Krasno, Griffin Goldsmith, Rick Mitarotonda and Otiel Burbridge.

Goldsmith also said those who enjoyed Dawes’ album Misadventures of Doomscroller would find a lot to like about this new project. He even shared a demo of the as-yet-unnamed group’s lead single “Kicking Over the Traces.”

The news comes on the heels of Dawes announcing some tour dates as a duo. In a previous Substack, Goldsmith said that the duo shows are always worthwhile but also challenging. With just him and his brother on stage, Taylor admitted he has to be bassist, rhythm guitarist, singer and lead guitarist all at once.
